Banff 2011

The trio came together in January for a packed-out week in the beautiful rocky mountains of Banff. We worked on new repertoire including works by Victor Simon and Hilario Duran, as well as a JKL original. We had a fantastic time collaborating with violist Cheryl Law, guitarist Ryan Butler and percussionist Ben Brown. We also whisked them all into the studio – looking forward to receiving the new recordings!

Montreal 2010

The Mash Potangos let rip in Montreal in June 2010, spending an intensive period together – training, creating and performing. In two weeks, we produced 10 shows in unusual spaces – including bars & cafes, artistic loft spaces, a hairdresser-art-space, a cultural centre and a traditional tango ball. We had a wonderful time collaborating with amazing local musicians Ali Marquez – violin and Soohyun Nam – cello. We were priveleged to work closely with astounding professional tango dancers Leila Boily-Afriat, Adrien Ronceray and Manuel Soto.
